  • “I was visited by Shanelle and her colleague Sarah in home on the 5th of May 2025. They were on time, polite, friendly, and helpful in providing necessary information … They handled my newborn with such care, love and compassion. They were easy to get along with, made me feel comfortable and gave an overall good experience. Additionally, in the short time they were here, they really listened to my stories, birth experiences, and concerns … and really educated me about the signs of postpartum depression … Thank you ladies so much.”
    – Kris, Parent

  • “[I] am so happy with the visit. It was so helpful; besides all the great information nurse Chi gave me, when she checked my blood pressure, she told me to go to the ER. They kept me 2 days in the hospital, and they gave me a blood pressure cuff there. I would not have known I needed medical attention if it wasn’t for her visit.”
    – Anonymous Parent

  • “I recently had a nurse home visit, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. From the moment the nurse arrived, I felt at ease with their professionalism and kindness. They took the time to thoroughly explain the care plan, listened to all of my concerns, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire visit. The level of attention and personalized care was exceptional, and it made a world of difference in my postpartum recovery, and she gave me some more information about affordable child care programs and baby essential programs. I truly appreciate the convenience and care of having a skilled nurse visit me at home. Highly recommend this service to anyone in need!”
    – Umaben, Parent

  • “The home visit was really good. My nurse (Lorena) took her time and went through all things about my expectations during my postpartum. It was really a great experience, and I learned a lot. She was very friendly and professional.”
    – Portia, Caregiver

  • “This was really wonderful; I feel like I learned a lot of information and [received] reassurance during this visit. Of course I would recommend this program as a first time mom; it really helps put your mind at ease to have someone in the home, in your own space to educate and reassure you, because [the] majority of issues or questions I feel started when I got home, not in the hospital.”
    – Eliza, Caregiver

  • Family Connects NJ visited my home after my wife and I welcomed our new baby boy home from the NICU. It was a phenomenal experience and [the nurse] provided some amazing resources and follow up for us. We recommend every new mother and family to take advantage of this free service.”
    – Arthur, Parent

  • “As my husband and I were preparing to welcome our first child, while there initially was so much excitement, there also was a lot of anxiety, particularly because of the immense responsibility [of] bringing a baby home and caring for her without the training wheels of the labor and delivery hospital team. When I saw an ad for the Family Connects NJ program online, which advertised a free home visit by a nurse, I immediately signed up on the portal in less than 5 minutes and booked an appointment for the second week our baby was home. Our assigned nurse, Meghan, was absolutely fantastic! Meghan reached out a few days before her visit to discuss logistics (confirm my address, the time, generally brief the topics we could cover, and invite me and my husband to compile a list of questions and topics to discuss). The day of her visit she arrived a few minutes early and texted me before she came to the door. Meghan was at our home for approximately 2 hours and in that time engaged with my husband and I in a very informal (yet informative) and relaxed conversation about the birth, parenthood, breastfeeding, the baby’s health and wellness, my and my husband’s health and wellness (including postpartum depression screening and general emotional wellbeing), … and a range of other areas of interest that had popped into our minds in those first two weeks … Overall, we are incredibly impressed by what Family Connects NJ provides for new families completely for free and in the comfort of their homes. We highly recommend this program to other families!”
    – Kat, Parent
